ONALASKA – The Coulee Region Chill used four second-period goals to beat the Austin Bruins 5-1 at the OmniCenter on Sunday and snap a three-game losing streak.
The Chill (20-11-4) won despite being outshot 38 to 33 in front of a crowd of 434. The Chill sit in second place in the Central Division behind Owatonna, trailing by only two points (46 to 44) and having played two fewer games than the Express.
After a scoreless first period, Coulee Region's Berkley Scott opened the scoring with a goal just less than two minutes into the second period.
David Ripple scored two goals four and a half minutes apart later in the second period for the Chill, giving him 13 goals on the season. His second goal Sunday came on a power play.
Ben Jaremko scored the fourth goal of the second period to give the Chill a 4-0 lead.
Lucas Dillon added the Chill's final goal, his 16th of the season, with just less than a minute to play in the third period.
Aaron Davis made 37 saves for the Chill.
