This seasons series against the Janesville Jets, sponsored by the Wisconsin Milk Marketing Board, was a close rivalry. Both teams played hard and shared equal time with the travelling "Milk Can" trophy. In fact the series was even at three wins a piece coming into this weekends final two games at the OmniCenter.
Friday night started out tough like the others as Janesville scored first at 14:44 of the first period. Along with a early second period goal to push the Chill behind 2-0 for the first half of the game. As the penalties, for both teams, started racking up with more frequency, the Chill took advantage with Micky Knox starting the comeback at 13:10 in the second. The teams fought hard in the third and Berkley Scott came through at 13:06 to send it into overtime. No score through the overtime period meant a one on one shoot out to determine the victors. David Ripple and Zac Frischmon each scored while Aaron Davis held off 4 of 5 of the Janesville shots to lead the Chill to victory.
Saturday looked to be a similar night as the Jets came out again scoring two goals for an early lead through the first period. The Chill however had other plans as they came back fast with three in the second from Jake Useldinger, Ben Gislason and Lucas Dillon to pull ahead going into the third. Connor Gaarder and Lucas Dillon each scored in the third to insure no overtime was necessary to take this one.
Having swept the final two game series from Janesville meant the "Milk Can" remains in the Coulee Region for the 2010-11 season. Congratulations to the Chill for the victory and to both teams their hard work and great games this season!
