BISMARCK, N.D. — The Coulee Region Chill not only earned two points with a 4-3 win over Bismarck on Friday night, they earned two points that vaulted them into second place in the NAHL Central Division, one point behind Owatonna.
The Chill (28-15-5, 61 points) also have three games in hand on Owatonna (28-15-5, 62) with one month left in the regular season.
Bismarck (27-16-4, 58) took a 2-1 lead in the first period before Coulee Region scored three unanswered goals in the second. Defenseman Matt Blomquist tied it before the Chill’s scoring leaders, Zac Frischmon (27 goals) and Connor Gaarder (23) made it 4-2.
The Bobcats scored with 1½ minutes left in the third with a sixth attacker on the ice, but Coulee Region goalie Aaron Davis (37 saves) didn’t give up the lead.
The teams play again today in Bismarck.
